Aims and Scope
The Journal of Economics and Decision Sciences (JEDS) publishes original research that improves our understanding of optimal and suboptimal economic phenomena, individual choice-making, and decision-making in corporations, non-profit organizations, and governments.
JEDS accepts rigorous theoretical, empirical, experimental, and methodological contributions, as well as interdisciplinary studies that combine perspectives from economics, decision sciences, analytics, management, public policy, and related fields.
JEDS encourages research that not only advances scholarly knowledge but also informs real-world decisions and public policy. The journal welcomes work that is innovative, clearly communicated, and relevant to contemporary economic and societal challenges.
Topics covered by the journal are intentionally broad and evolve with developments in economics, decision sciences, analytics, public policy, and related fields. Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear contribution to scholarly understanding and/or decision-making practice.
Publication Philosophy
The Journal of Economics and Decision Sciences (JEDS) believes that valuable research should be accessible, relevant, and clearly communicated.
While many contemporary journals increasingly favor lengthy manuscripts, JEDS welcomes both concise and comprehensive contributions. Authors are encouraged to focus on clarity, originality, and practical significance rather than manuscript length alone.
We believe that timely dissemination of innovative ideas in progress, empirical findings of current events, methodological advances of previously unsolved problems, and policy insights of recent crises can be communicated effectively in shorter papers. Such research findings are particularly welcome.
